Premarital with Phil
GOAL:
To prepare the couple to the best of their ability to engage in the realities of covenant marriage and to equip them with tools for establishing a sound marital foundation.
RESOURCES:
- Right from the Start: A Premarital Guide for Couples - David and Lisa Frisbee
- What Did You Expect?: Redeeming the Realities of Marriage - Paul Tripp
- Premarital Assessment Tools
- Prepare-Enrich Assessment (https://www.prepare-enrich.com)
- Portrait Predictor/DiSC Profile
- Any other assessment or tools that are recommended by facilitator.
EXPECTATIONS:
- Premarital is a prerequisite for a Clarity Church approved officiant but the completion of premarital is not a guarantee that Clarity Church will administer and facilitate a wedding ceremony.
- Phases 1-2 must occur over a span of 12 hours and be completed no less that 60 days before wedding date (if wedding date is already set)
- Each sessions requires that all homework and reading is finished
- There may be themes that we spend more than one week on, extending the overall length of premarital counseling. All couples can expect to spend more than one week on at least one theme if not more than one.
- All homework assignments are prerequisites for the next session. If all homework is not completed, the session will be canceled and all sessions will be pushed back to the next scheduled meeting.
- Assessment fees must be paid in full in order for Phase 2 can begin.
